Owned by the Yorkshire Agricultural Society and run by Stu, the catering manager, Fodder Farm Shop is a renowned café and farm shop based at the home of the Great Yorkshire Show.
Known for championing local produce and Yorkshire hospitality, the café has been working with Coffee Brothers since day one, trusting us to keep their coffee offer as impressive as their food and service.
Challenges & Needs
As a busy, high-volume farm shop, Fodder needed a partner with real industry experience to refine and elevate their coffee service. The team struggled with milk consistency during peak times, which impacted speed and quality. They needed a reliable system and expert support to deliver consistently excellent coffee — every cup, every time.
To solve this, we installed the Perfect Moose automatic milk system — the ideal solution to standardise texture and temperature while freeing baristas to focus on speed and service.


The
Coffee
The team chose Lou’s Blend as their house coffee — a smooth, versatile blend that works perfectly across their menu.
To make their coffee offering even more distinctive, we created fully bespoke branded packaging at no extra cost for their farm shop shelves.
This gave the farm shop a unique retail presence and allowed customers to take home a piece of the experience, while reinforcing their brand identity at every touchpoint.
The Equipment
To meet the demands of their high footfall, we supplied the San Remo D8, a powerhouse designed for busy environments where quality can’t be compromised. Renowned for its reliability, temperature stability, and ease of use, the D8 ensures every espresso is as precise as the last — even during the busiest service rush.
Supporting the D8, Fodder’s new setup features the Mahlkönig E80 and E65S grinders, engineered for consistency and speed to handle continuous service without missing a beat. And to take things even further, we installed the Perfect Moose automatic milk system — the ultimate solution for achieving perfectly textured milk every time. The system not only improved drink quality but dramatically enhanced workflow, freeing up baristas to focus on customer experience and speed.


Beyond The Cup
Beyond the equipment, we worked with Fodder to create a complete, end-to-end coffee experience. This included developing their own bespoke branded retail coffee range, designed to align perfectly with their farm-shop aesthetic and give customers a way to take a little piece of Fodder home.
We also supplied a curated selection of premium syrups, luxury hot chocolate, and branded takeaway cups, ensuring every element of their coffee service reflected quality and consistency. From the first sip in the café to the moment a customer brews a bag at home, every detail reinforces the same high standards that define the Fodder experience.
Extensive
Training
For Fodder, great coffee was only part of the goal — equally important was ensuring their entire team had the skills and confidence to deliver it consistently. We provided extensive, ongoing training tailored to their operation, covering everything from espresso fundamentals and milk texturing to advanced workflow techniques designed for high-volume service.
Our training went beyond the typical “how-to” sessions. We focused on building barista confidence, optimising workflow efficiency, and creating repeatable systems that keep quality high even during peak hours. Every team member — from new starters to senior staff — was trained to extract coffee to specification, texture milk to perfection, and understand the why behind every step.
